Notice of Beware of Fraudulent Agents Posing as Embassy Staff
2026-06-17 00:00

The Chinese Embassy in Jordan has recently received reports of illegal visa agents posing as embassy staff. These fraudsters claim to have “internal connections” to process visas, passports and other documents on behalf of applicants, disrupting official services and causing actual losses to victims. To safeguard applicants’ legitimate rights and interests, the Embassy issues the following official reminder:

1. The Chinese Embassy in Jordan has not established any visa center and has never authorized any individual or commercial entity to provide agency services for visas, passports, travel documents, notarization or authentication. All claims of official cooperation or privileged processing channels by third-party agents are false and illegal. Their acts are in no way affiliated with or endorsed by the Embassy.

Official Visa Application Channel: All visa applications should apply for visa via the official China Online Visa Application (COVA) system: https://consular.mfa.gov.cn/VISA/

Official Passport & Travel Document Channel: Applications for passports and travel documents shall be submitted through the 中国领事 Application: https://jo.china-embassy.gov.cn/chn/gmfw/lszj/zglsappjj/

2. Applicants are strongly advised to stay alert to fraudulent agents. Scammers often use false promises such as “internal connections”, “exclusive channels” or “guaranteed approval” to charge excessive agency fees. Fraudulent agency services may lead to falsified materials, application rejection, financial losses and negative impacts on personal entry-exit credit records. Please refrain from trusting any non-official publicity.

3. If you encounter anyone posing as embassy staff to provide illegal document agency services or commit fraud, or if you have suffered related losses, please promptly preserve evidence including chat records, transfer slips and screenshots, report the case to local police, and notify the Embassy’s Consular Department.

Hereby reminded.
