In order to further facilitate visa applications, from the effective date of this notice until 31 December 2026, Chinese visa-issuing authorities abroad will waive fingerprint collection for all applicants applying for short-term visas with a stay duration of no more than 180 days.

Applicants for visa categories D, J1, Q1, S1, X1, and Z, which require the issuance of a residence permit after entry into China, shall continue to comply with existing regulations, including fingerprint collection.
