Legalization is a governmental act by which a designated public official (e.g. a consular officer) certifies the genuineness of the signature and/or seal and the position of the person/official who has executed, issued or authenticated (a copy of) a document. It by no means attests to the authenticity of the contents of a document. Required Documents for Legalization - Original and copy of the applicant's passport and copy of resident card; - Original document(s) and copies to be used in China, authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Jordan; - Completed Legalization Application Form. Notes - If the applicant (people related to legalization) cannot file the application in person, the agent must submit copies of the applicant's passport and resident card as well as the originals and copies of passport and resident card of the agent. - When applying for legalization of documents for business purposes, copy of business license must be submitted. Pickup and Payments 4 working days for Regular Services and 3 working days for Urgent Service. Fees For Chinese citizens: each Civil Document 6 Jordanian Dinar; each Business Document 11 Jordanian Dinar For foreigner citizens: each Civil Document 16 Jordanian Dinar; each Business Document 32 Jordanian Dinar An additional fee of 18 Jordanian Dinar will be charged for expedited processing. The Chinese Embassy does not accept legalization applications by mail. |
