On 30 May, His Excellency Chen Chuandong, Chinese Ambassador to Jordan, met with His Excellency Muawieh Radaideh, Minister of Environment of Jordan. The two sides had in-depth exchanges on promoting China-Jordan cooperation in the field of environment.

Ambassador Chen provided an overview of China's ongoing initiatives to promote the development of ecological civilization. He emphasized that under the strategic guidance of leaders from both China and Jordan, bilateral relations and collaboration across various sectors are steadily deepening. Both being developing countries, China and Jordan are both endeavoring to foster economic growth, protect the environment, and tackle climate change with shared interests. China stands ready to collaborate with Jordan on environmental protection initiatives, including efficient water resource utilization, afforestation, clean energy development, and capacity building.

Minister Radaideh commended China's achievements in ecological and environmental preservation and its proactive actions on climate change. He also shared  Jordan's ongoing efforts in environmental protection. The Minister expressed his expectations for enhanced cooperation between Jordan and China in areas such as climate change, environmental protection technology, and other relevant domains.

The sides also exchanged perspectives on global climate governance.
