Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, Amman

The Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is now recruiting 3 clerical employees and 1 driver.

I.Requirements for application

Position 1: Media and Public Affairs Assistant, assists in managing social media accounts and organizing public events, assists in research and analyzing of information, other duties as required.

Positions 2 & 3: General Assistants, assists in preparing documents, communications with ministries and agencies, providing consular services and administrative support, assists in research and analyzing of information, other duties as required.

●Jordanian citizens or other nationals with legal entitlement to live and work in Jordan, under the age of 40, irrespective of gender; 

Holders of Bachelor’s degree or higher;

At least 2 years of related work experiences, experience and skills in social media, or related work required for Position 1;

Advanced proficiency in spoken and written English and Arabic, Chinese language ability and translation skills preferable;

Good command of computer and information management skills (MS Office, Excel, etc.);

Ability to research, analyze and summarize information;

Possession of valid Jordanian driver’s license preferred (fuel subsidy possible as applicable).

Position 4: Driver, driver for the Ambassador and other Embassy staff, maintenance of Embassy vehicles, delivery of official correspondence and other items, logistical support and other duties as required.

Jordanian citizen or other national with legal entitlement to live and work in Jordan, under the age of 45, male;

High school education or higher; 

Fluent in Arabic and English, Chinese language ability preferable;

Valid Jordanian driver’s license with good safety record, professional driving skills and work ethics required by the job, at least 5 years of driving experience and 2 years of professional driver experience, executive driver experience preferable; 

Good knowledge of traffic conditions and rules of Jordan;

Vehicle maintenance skills. 

For all the above positions

Good health, strong motivation and sense of responsibility, good communication and interpersonal skills, team spirit, commitment to abiding by work assignment;

No criminal record, no habits against social virtues, no legal proceedings or any other matters that may affect performance of duties. 

II.Requirements for documentation

1.Personal resume (Chinese, English or Arabic all acceptable, information should include nationality, work experience, education and main family members, phone numbers, brief motivation and qualification description);

2.Copies of passport and Jordanian ID card or residence and work permits;

3.Copy of driver's license (for applicable positions);

4.Academic certification (copy of diploma/degree certificate, HSK certificate of Chinese Proficiency Test, etc.);

5.One recent 2-inch ID photo (and electronic copy);

6.Criminal Record Certificate (issued by the court).

III. How to apply

1. Please send all your application materials by email to: chinaemb_jo@mfa.gov.cn, indicating "name + job position" in the title. Face-to-face and telephone consultations are not available.

2. Application deadline: 5 January 2023.

IV. Shortlisting and interview

1.We will conduct a preliminary review of all applications based on recruitment requirements and qualifications and notify those who are shortlisted by phone for interviews in mid-January 2023 (those who are not shortlisted will not be notified and inquiries are not possible).

2. Shortlisted applicants who do not appear at the interviews will be disqualified.

3. Please present hard copies of all the required materials at interviews.

4. Physical examinations will be organized for those who pass interviews. Final decisions will be based on both interview and physical examination results.

V. Working hours and salary

40 working hours per week, normal working hours: Sunday to Thursday 8:30-14:00, 16:00-18:00.

Salaries will be based on skills, experience and performance, and determined upon recruitment. All new recruited staff will have a three-month probationary period.
