Ambassador Chen Chuandong Meets WFP Jordan Country Director Alberto Mendes

Ambassador of China to Jordan H.E. Chen Chuandong met with World Food Programme Representative and Country Director in Jordan Alberto Correia Mendes on July 15.

Country Director Mendes briefed Ambassador Chen of WFP aid programmes in Jordan and the challenges it faced, highlighting the importance of continued cooperation between WFP and China in Jordan.

Ambassador Chen hailed the important role WFP played in global food security, poverty reduction and refugee relief. He reaffirmed China's readiness for more coordination and collaboration with WFP, including at the country level in Jordan.
