The year 2021 is a special year for both China and Jordan. In China, we will celebrate the 100^th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, which leads the nation. In Jordan, people are celebrating the first centenary of the statehood. The celebrations give us many good opportunities.

It is a good opportunity to reflect upon the path we have taken and the great achievements in the last century. Both our countries have come a long way in achieving national independence and in nation building.

It is a good opportunity to look into the future. In China, we have embarked on a new journey to build an all-around modern country. In Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah, the nation is forging ahead for a better future.

It is also a good opportunity to renew our friendship. A week ago, we celebrated the 44^th anniversary of diplomatic ties between China and Jordan. A few days ago, President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory message to His Majesty King Abdullah on the occasion of Jordan's centenary. We should make good use of this momentum to broaden and deepen our friendship and cooperation in political, economic, trade, investment, cultural, tourism and other fields, and continue to jointly fight COVID-19.

We wish the friendly Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan greater success in the second centenary.

As new Ambassador of China, I will do my best to promote our relations and friendship.
