Chinese Ambassador to Jordan Chen Chuandong attended the signing ceremony of Huawei ICT Academy, a joint project between Huawei Jordan and Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) in Amman on March 9.

In his remarks, Ambassador Chen highlighted the important role ICT plays in socio-economic development and its impact on peoples’ lives especially against the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic. He referred to Jordan as a leader in ICT infrastructure and services in the MENA region and Huawei a dedicated corporate citizen in Jordan. The Ambassador spoke highly of the JUST & Huawei ICT Academy, hailing it as exemplary of ICT cooperation between China and Jordan. He said that he was convinced that with an open, transparent and fair business environment in Jordan, there would be even more mutually beneficial cooperation in the ICT industry and beyond.

The agreement for JUST & Huawei ICT Academy was signed by Wang Jian, CEO of Huawei's Levant region and Dr. Saeb Khreisat, President of JUST. Secretaries General of the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Jordan attended the event.
