House speaker, Chinese ambassador discuss cooperation

Amman, July 9 (Petra News Agency)--Speaker of the Lower House of Parliament Abdul Karim Dughmi on Monday discussed with the Chinese Ambassador to Jordan Yue Xiaoyong means of forging closer ties between Jordan and China in various fields.

The speaker hailed relations between the two countries, which have been progressively developing since the establishment of diplomatic relations between them.

He said visits of His Majesty King Abdullah II contributed to further boosting relations between the two countries.

Dughmi highlighted reforms that have been achieved by Jordan, pointing to the approval of the amended Elections Law by the House yesterday.

The ambassador voiced his country's keenness to develop relations with Jordan in various domains, pointing to the need to exchange visits among parliamentarians from both countries to benefit from expertise of both countries.

He also hailed Jordan's reform process led by His Majesty the King.
