Vice-Chairman of CPPCC met with King Abdullah

Luo Haocai, vice-chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), who headed the Chinese delegation to attend the 2nd China-Arab Business Conference, met with His Majesty King Abdullah at Beit Al Baraka on June 18.

Luo conveyed Chinese President Hu Jintao's greetings to HM King Abdullah, and expressed appreciation for the role Jordan played as the host country of the 2nd China-Arab Business Conference. Luo said, the conference is a significant event under the framework of China-Arab Cooperation Forum, and it is for the first time that the conference was held in an Arab country. It has positive significance for strengthening mutual-beneficial economic cooperation and promoting the mechanism construction of the Forum. The conference will offer new opportunity for China-Arab countries and China-Jordan to expand cooperation, upgrade the level of trade.

Luo said this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of dilopmatic relation between China and Jordan. China would like to take this opportunity to further enhance the bilateral relation and explore new area of cooperation.

The Monarch stressed the importance of the role that China plays in regional issues and described the China's interest in regional investment as "strategic".

"We hope that this visit will promote bilateral commercial relations that started over 30 years ago, and benefit from the stories of success achieved by Chinese investment in the country," the Monarch said.

Several Chinese businessmen, the Chairman of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and China's ambassador to Jordan Gong Xiaosheng attended the meeting.
